The Devil wears Prada….Or does she?

You are going for a job interview. You are determined to look your most professional and land a kill for this job. You dress yourself in a smart, long sleeve Polo Ralph shirt and sleek black pants. You make sure your hair and make-up are impeccable and scrutinize yourself in the mirror for an hour before finally stepping out of your house.
You reach the designated venue 45mins before time. From the looks of it, the company is a small enterprise. There should be little competition for the job opening.
A middle-aged woman in a over-sized white shirt and faded navy jeans greets you with a smile at the reception area and hands you an application form to complete. “What a friendly receptionist”, you thought. After 15 mins, she asks you to follow her to the General Manager’s office. You make a final check of your image through the reflection of a nearby glass panel before walking down the short, narrow corridor leading to the GM’s office.
So there you are finally, ready to ace the interview. But wait … the seat behind the desk is empty! Where is the GM?!
You watch in disbelief (you try to hide your amazement in utter failure) as the friendly ‘receptionist’ takes her seat behind the desk….
Talk about an anti-climax!
In a world that emphasizes about 1st impressions, image, class & professionalism, how weird it is when the subordinate dresses better than the boss?
